The cross sections show some
variation from the approved configuration; however, the changes that result in
slightly steeper slope gradients than the approved p]an are ba]anced by other
changes that produce slope gradients which are less steep than the approved
plan. It is also important to note that the cross-sections represent a very
small portion of Area 51 East.
In summary, the two cross sections indicate on acceptable ground configuration
for those cross sections. Colorado Yampa Coal Company is still responsib]e
for ensuring that the reclaimed areas represented by the cross sections will
adequately blend with upslope and downs lope areas of reclamation.
Also, although we are accepting these cross sections, future variations
between the approved and constructed configuration for larger areas, should be
approved prior to implementation of final grading. It is our understanding
that a technical revision will be submitted if spoil volume projections
indicate such variations for the remainder of Area 51 East.
Thank you for your cooperations.
Si ncerel ~L'.
id A.
