C. Somerset Mine approved plan. Sunflower Energy Company can now
go ahead and mine the Federal Lease as soon as O.S.M. grants approval of
this modification.
As you know, our new permanent coal regulatory program was approved
and published on December 15, 1980. This means that your new permit
application must be filed with MLRD by February 15, 1981 in order to meet
the two month deadline for new applications. Rlso, concerning the
December, 1980 MLRD Board action on the bond for the Blue Ribbon Mine,
the increased amount of the bond needs to be turned in by January 17,
1981 (30 days after the Board Meeting).
If you have any questions regarding these matters, please do not
hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
Tom Gillis
Reclamation Specialist
/t
