DEPT, OF NATU:..4L RES:: ~C~S
On June 21, 1982, Dorchester received a letter with extensive adequacy
comments pertaining to its Dorchester ;fl permit application. During the
intervening period of time Dorchester has diligently worked to answer the
questions raised in the June 21 letter and more importantly to implement
the solutions at the mine. A refuse dump reconstruction plan was developed
and submitted in June, 1982, a comprehensive drainage and sediment control
plan was submitted in September, 1982, and questions pertaining to the rail
loadout have been addressed in technical revisions submitted in August,
1982, and January, 1983.
This submittal has been prepared to comprehensively respond to all issues
raised in the June 21 letter. A "comment-response" format is utilized to
ensure that each comment has a clearcut specific response. In many cases,
the response references the previously submitted materials noted above,
and those prior submittals and technical revisions not included in this
document are hereby incorporated by reference. All information presented
or referred to in this document should be considered to supercede material
presented in the original permit application, Volumes 1-A and 2-A and any
related information to the extent such materials are inconsistent with
this document. We recognize that the format of this response, while clearly
delineating responses to each comment could present some difficulty in
integrating the current information with valid prior information. Dorchester
will be happy to assist you in any way possible to facilitate your review.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and continued cooperation and look
forward to a clear and speedy resolution of any lingering issues surrounding
the Dorchester kl permit. Please give me a call at your earliest conven-
ience to plan an approach to completing the permit review process.
Thank you.
- Sincerely,'/~
Dean R.
