Lonk <br />Division Director <br />Enclosed is a copy of comments received from Daryl Burlchard of the Colorado Natural Heritage <br />Program regarding the Yoast Mine application. The letter notes the occurrence the Columbian <br />sharp-tailed grouse in the immediate vicinity of the permit area, which is of significance since <br />the sub-species is very rare. The letter mentions that the Division may wish to contact the U.S. <br />Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) for additional information. We contacted USFWS at the <br />time the permit application was deemed complete. The Division will wait for comments from <br />USFWS regarding this and other rare, endangered, or threatened animals prior to determining <br />the need for any rrutigative measures. <br />We will forward any additional comments on the application as they are received.
