~ ~'
100-year flood elevation for North Thompson Creek in the area of the
embankment is less than a 30 elevation. Since this embankment doesn't
extend below a 30 elevation, with the exception of a small area in the
vicinity of Section C-C, it appears the embankment is out of the 100-year
flood plain and there will be not need for rip-rap. This will be con-
firmed in the field before final design if the earthen embankment alter-
native is selected for construction.
At this time Snowmass Coal Company is reviewing these two sedimentation
structure alternatives to determine which will best suit our needs and
meet the requirements of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division.
Your comments in regard to this matter would be greatly appreciated.
If you desire further information, or if I can help in any way with your
evaluation, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Craig A. Sherwood
Environmental Coordinator
~.
Encl ~~,
as
CAS:jm
7
