II I IIIIII I II IIII III r~,~ /l.V . <br />The following information pertaining tc wildlife is provided fort use by <br />the Land Reclamation Board in their considzr.ation of a mining permit <br />far Red Canvon Mine <br />The Colorado Division of Wildlife does hereby find, to the hest of our <br />knowledge, that the impact of the praposad mining operation ^n wildlife <br />will he <br />minor <br />X moderate <br />major <br />Mina Lunation: SW~ of SW~, S 12, T. 13, R. 95 W., 6 P.M. <br />Wildlife Species List: (may he attached) Deer will be the major species <br />concerned with here. The area does have coyote, bobcat, fox, cottontail rabbit, <br />jackrabbit, songbirds, raptors and a variety of reptiles. <br />Endangered Species Impacted: None that are known. <br />Assessment of Impact on Wildlife: Impact to wildlife will be moderate, <br />mostly coming from roads, human activity and noise. Deer is the primary specie <br />affected. Also, there is the possibility of raptor nesting in this area. <br />Activity in this area has probably adversely affected the raptor nesting. <br />Mine Reclamation Recommendations: (may be attached) I ~•~ould concur with <br />the reclamation plan submitted by Fed Canon Mine, if [hose roads, which are not <br />absolutely needed, are closed and reclaimed. <br />Prepared by pterle Hodges Title Wildlife Conservation Officer <br />Date hlovember 23, 1977 <br />
