The plan and profile of the existing road and the <br />proposed road are shown on the attached drawings. <br />Erosion control during construction will consist of straw <br />bales placed so as to hold back silt. The embankment will be <br />constructed of material obtained from the area near the existing <br />CF+I spoil pile due east of Pond 'R`. The road surface and <br />eub-base will consist of clean dirt from near the 1983 pit area <br />and material removed from the process of eloping back the road <br />cute on the existing haul road. The characteristics of the <br />disturbed soil near the CF+I pile to be used as surface and <br />sub-base are described by [he analysis attached. The soil !s <br />classified ae Type D by AASHO and ie suitable for the intended <br />purpose. <br />Each layer of [he embankment will be completed, leveled, and <br />compacted before the succeeding layer ie placed. Loads of <br />material will be leveled when placed and kept smooth. The <br />succeeeive layers will be compacted evenly by routing the hauling <br />and leveling equipment over the entire width of the embankment. <br />
