Dept. of ~l'atur~l Flesources <br />This letter is to advise you that on December 31, 1981, [he Roadside <br />and Cameo No. 1 Mines in northeastern Mesa County were acquired by <br />Powderhorn Coal Company, a partnership consisting of Canyon Coal Corp., <br />a subsidiary of Western, and Raven Mining Inc., a subsidiary of Nicor <br />Mining Inc. Western will manage the Powderhorn operations. <br />We accept and will abide by the requirements of Permit MLRD No. 77-442, <br />under which operation is continuing. Be advised that Powderhorn Coal <br />Company will diligently work towards approval for the Application for a <br />Permit to Conduct Coal Mining in Colorado (C-041-81), which was submitted <br />to MLRD on February 15th, 1981. This acceptance is further subject to the <br />submission of amendments or other requests for alteration as occasions to <br />do so arise.
