1
RECEIVE®
Measurement: Disturbed Area MAY s ~
Sundance Coal Company
MINED LAND RECLAMATION
Cob. Oopt. of Naglral Resources
The distrubed area was measured by planimeter on a 100 feet to
the inch map (see map attached). Please note that the disturbed
acreage is only 18.88 acres (see below), not 22.9 acres which
is the area permitted.
The disturbed area measures 82.24 inches.
One (1) square inch on the map represents 10,000 square feet.
Therefore:
82.24 X 10,000 X 822,400 sq. feet
822,400 sq. ft. = 18.88 acres
43,500 sq. 'f t./acre
and 822,400 sq. ft. X .5 ft. = 411,200 cu. ft., the amount of
topsoil needed to cover the entire area 6 inches thick.
411,200
27 = 15,229 cubic yards of topsoil.
Sundance has stockpiled 7,000 cubic yards of topsoil
15,229 are required. Therefore,
8,229 more yards of topsoil are needed to cover
the disturbed area 6" deep. This will be supplied by operator
at a cost of $3.75/yd. delivered and tested.
