-6-
Wi11 Comply
816.50 Ground Water Quality-;lining Effects
OSM has reviewed water quality data submitted by Energy Fuels Corporation and
in the vicinity of the mine plan area there will be an increase in total
dissolved solid g, (TDS) priaarily as an increase in sulfates. The solute
[ranspos[ model indicates that the effects will be reduced significantly with
tiae. Because the water quality in the Twenty "!ile ground water basin is
already high in TDS and is poor for domestic use and used only Eor livestock
and irrigation the aquifer will not be adversely a`.fected by the proposed
mining operation.
Will Comply
816.51 Protection of Ground Water Recharge Capacity
The applicant has demonstrated that ground water recharge capacity will
increase within the spoil areas as discussed above. Because this area only
comprises 5 percent of the area of the Twenty Nile Park ground water basin
there will be no significant impact on the overall recharge capacity of this
aquifer. There will be a temporary reduction in piezometric surface in the
ground water basin during [he initial stages of mining, but this reduction
will no[ be measureable more than 5000 ft frog tha disturbed area. There are
no wells within [his zone of influence and the piezeometrlc surface will
recover after mining. The piezometric surface in [he disturbed area will be
altered as a result of mining but will approximate original conditions once
equilibrium is reached.
Will Comply
816.52(a) Ground Water Monitoring
The. applicant has sufficient monitoring wells to adequately monitor any
potential effects of the proposed operation on [he Twenty Mile Park ground
water basin. The location of these 47 wells is shown on Map 13. The wells
are completed to the bot[oa of the wadge seam and will be sampled for TDS, Ca,
Na, Mg, K, 504, C1, C03, HCO, Mn.
Will Comply
816.53 Transfer of We11s (v.3 p816-63)
The applicant does not propose to transfer any wells.
`]ot applicable
816.54 Water Rights Replacement (v.3 p816-54)
Analysis of the ground water data submitted by the applicant indicates that
there will be no contamination, dimination, or interruption resulting from the
wining activities. In the unlikely event such occurs the applicant owns
sufficient senior eater rights in [he general area co replace any water rights
injured in the process of mining.
