The outslopes of the embanlarent will be stabilized
with a vegetative Grover by sowing the previously approved seed
mixture, excluding shrub species, over the emtei~larent.
Reclamation Plan
The loadout area will be returned to a condition that will be support-
ive of other industrial uses. The top three inches of material will be
removed from the site and transported to the mine for burial in the
final cut. The sediment ponds and other surface structures will be
rmoved fran the site and the azea left in a condition suitable for
reentry by other industrial uses.
An alternate land use for the site would be returning it to a
green belt area. This would be accomplished by obtaining an analysis
of the overburrien material present at the site to see if it will support
vegetation. Upon ~~letion of the analysis, the appropriate nutrients
and amendrtents will be incorporated into the material as per the
recanrieru3ations derived from the analysis. The area will be seeded
with a mixture of native and introduced grass species. Also, groupings
of cottonwoods will be planted along the banks of the irrigation ditch.
Approximately four groupings of two trees per grouping will be planted.
The seed mixture will be as follows:
Buffalo Grass 4 1bs/ac
Side~ts Drama 4 lbs/ac
Kentucky Bluegrass 3 lbs/ac
Fairway Wheatgrass 2 lbs/ac
Flbstern Wlieatgrass 3 lbs/ac
The above mixture will be drilled and a straw mulch of two ton
per acre will be blown on and crimped after seeding.
It should be noted that the above is only offered as a hypothetical
reclamation plan, both the county and landowner would have to approve
a change in the land use as proposed above.
The above should satisfy the concerns generated in your adequacy
letter. However, if you have additional concerns, please contact me
at your convenience.
TBM is planning on having the atrendimnt approved at the January,
1981 MLR Hoard Meeting.
