A map showing the relative locations of the three applications is
attached as Figure 1.
All three of the coal lease applications are immediately adjacent to
'energy Fuels on-going surface operations. Coal lease applications
C-22644 and C-26913 are adjacent to Energy Pit #1, and application
C-22676 is adjacent to Energy Pit #3 (see Exhibit 1). The
applications are located southwest of Steamboat Springs.
In lieu of the fact that the three coal lease applications are in the
same general area and have been applied for by a single company, all
three applications will be covered by one TE/EAR. This will also
enable a determination of the cumulative or aggregate impacts of all
three applications to be made. Environmental conditions or proposed
actions found to be unique to a particular application will be
indicated in this TE/EAR, and referenced by application number.
A detailed Unit Resource Analysis (URA) and Management Framexork Plan
(MFP) for the Williams Fork Planning Unit have been completed and
include the lands of the subject applications. The MFP for the
Williams Fork Planning Unit was completed in 1974 and updated in 1977.
A review of this MFP has revealed that this proposed action is
compatible with the recommendations set forth in the document. The
URA and MFP can be used to supplement this report when it is deemed
that additional data are required. The URA and MFP are available for
public inspection at the Bureau of Land Management (.BLM) Craig
District Office, 455 Emerson Street, Craig, Coloradl 81625.
2
