The <br />larger value represents the upper limit of what might <br />be expected for annual runoff and peak discharge should <br />the reservoirs be full and exert minimal effect on <br />runoff, <br />In either event, the computed values clearly show that <br />total runoff from the proposed lease tracts probably <br />woultl not greatly exceed 100 acre-feet annually and <br />that peak discharges are modest and should present no <br />serious flooding problems, Field observations shox no <br />indication of high discharges in any of the stream <br />channels that traverse the proposed lease areas. <br />4, Erosion and Sedimentation <br />Field observations show that tracts C-22644 and C-26913 <br />are generally stable and characterized by minimal up- <br />land and channel erosion. This stability is attributed <br />to a combination of good soils, a good to excellent <br />plant cover on all but the steepest slopes, and mod- <br />erate grazing use, Most valley bottoms are obviously <br />46 <br />
