<br />contiguous. The tracts consist principally of a long high <br />ridge that trends north-easterly and ranges in elevation <br />from 6,900 to 8,200 feet. The ridge has a steep southeast <br />escarpment ending at Middle Creek. The northwest slope is <br />gentle and uniform to Foidel Creek, a distance of 2,0-2.5 <br />miles, Most of the valleys cut into this surface are <br />narrox, V-shaped, and about BO-200 feet deep, North of the <br />proposed mine site is the broad, gently rolling Txentymile <br />Park. <br />Coal Lease application C-22676 is comprised of two separate <br />parcels: 80 acres in sec. 7, T. 5 N „ R. 85 W., and 643.81 <br />acres in sec. 2 and 3, T. 5 N „ R. 86 W., and secs. 34 and <br />35, T. 6 N „ R. 86 W. These two parcels occupy a dissected <br />ridge that trends NE-SE. The ridge has a moderately steep, <br />uniform SW slope ending in creek bottoms. To the NE, the <br />uplands are moderately dissected. <br />B. Geolo¢v <br />The geology of all three coal lease applications is similar <br />from the standpoints of surficial deposits, paleontology, <br />and mineral resources.
