~J

would be necessary to cross the Denver and Rio Grande
Western railroad tract and Fish Creek for coal hauling to
the existing tipple in the NE1/4NE1/4 sec, 2, T, 5 N.,
R, 86 W. Such construction would comply with all laws and
regulations.
It is anticipated that the mine operation would begin in
1980 and terminate in 1983, A preliminary sequence as
presented by Energy Fuels is attached as Figure 3.
The following tabulation is a summary of past and projected
coal production from Energy Mine No. 1, 2, 3 for the years
1972 through 1986, The total production projected from 1978
through 1986 reflects the actual production from all three
mines in the absence of additional federal coal leasing. In
the event that Energy Fuels obtains the three coal lease
applications, they would maintain their 1977 production rate
of approximately 4 million tons per year through 1986, with
no anticiapted drastic increases. As indicated in the last
column of the simmmary, should the coal lease applications
not be obtained', Energy Fuels predicts deficiency on
commitments of 19,035,000 tons from 1978 through 1986.
II. Description of the Existing Environment
A. Apo raphv
The topography of coal lease applications C-22644 and
C-26913 will be considered together as both parcels are
26
