<br />would be recorded annually. <br />These groups of native shrubs and trees would create random <br />stands for wildlife edge areas. The shrubs would supply <br />browse for wildlife in winter months and create shelter <br />areas for better utilization of the grasses, <br />Soil samples xould be randomly taken on sites that have been <br />topsoiled, These samples would be submitted to the soil lab <br />at the Colorado State University for analysis. These data <br />would be processed through computers along with other <br />pertinent material and CSU would recommend fertilizers. <br />Should weeds infest a reclaimed area, either mechanical or <br />chemical control would be used, depending upon the area and <br />severity of infestation. <br />Streams adjacent to Energy 1 and 2 mining areas would be <br />protected from excessive siltation by small settling ponds <br />or gravel bar filters. All such ponds or filters would be <br />constructed in compliance with OSM and State of Colorado <br />statutory requirements. All three streams in the existing <br />mine area are nox monitored monthly.
