<br /> <br />Mr. Jim Green -2- November 21, 1994 <br />Colorado Historical Society <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle <br />maps of Dunckiey and Mount Harris. <br />We are requesting your agency's evaluation of this permit application with <br />regard to the potential for impacts to cultural and historic resources. In <br />order for us to approve the application, we are required to make a finding <br />that "the proposed operations will not adversely affect any publicly owned <br />park or place listed on or those places eligible for listing, as determined by <br />the SHPO, on the National Register of Historic Places, unless approved jointly <br />by the Board and the Federal, State, or local agency with jurisdiction over <br />the park or place." We request your evaluation and concurrence in order to <br />make this finding, pursuant to the May, 1991, MOU between our agencies. <br />Please refer to the MOU when undertaking your review. <br />Seneca Coal Company is sending pertinent portions of the application, <br />including a mine plan map, to your agency. Please advise us if you require <br />additional information. In order for us to comply with regulatory time <br />frames, we request that comments be submitted to Susan Burgmaier, Division of <br />Minerals and Geology, at the above address by 5:00 p.m. on January 13, 1995. <br />If no comments are received by this date, we will proceed on the assumption <br />that your agency has no concerns with or objections to the applicant's <br />proposal. <br />A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Hayden <br />public Library, 225 East Jefferson Avenue, Hayden, Colorado. Written <br />comments, objections or requests for an informal conference on the application <br />may be submitted to, and additional information obtained from, the Division of <br />Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, <br />(303> 866-3567.
