2.04.7(2) Surface Water Information The applicant has not supplied analyses of all of the parameters required by the Division (see Appendix A). Quarterly measurements of all of these parameters will occur until it is determined that certain parameters are not present at problem levels. At that time some of the parameters can be eliminated from the program. 2.04.7(3) Alternative Water Supply Information 1. If, after the additional information requested in part 2.04.7(1) above is submitted, it is determined that the information requested in this part (with respect to alternative water sources(s)) is necessary, then the Division will request it from the applicant. The information requested would include the location of the soutces(s), quantity and quality data, a distribution scheme, and an analysis dealing with the alternative source(s)' compatability with the post-mining land use. Therefore, the applicant should attempt to determine if this information will be necessary when they are gathering and preparing the information asked For under part 2.04.7(1) of this review. 2.04.8 Climatological information 1. Mean monthly precipitation data and mean monthly temperature/temperature range data should be referenced in the narrative as appearing in table 9.8-1. 2. Data for average direction and velocity of site winds needs clarification. The use of the rotated wind rose (Fig. 4.6-I) needs to be explained and the original wind rose from Crand Junction should appear in the section along with its period of record. 3. The Spink Canyon meterorlogical station Location should be shown on a map. Data from this station (as mentioned in the text) should also be included. 2.04.9 Soils Resource Information 1. Please indicate the methodology used for sampling and describing soil horizons. For example, were pits excavated far this purpose? 2. The legend on Figure 9.7-1 should define the mapping units indicated on the map. Please provide this information. 3. Page 9-61 of the application states that the Glendive series was sampled at MU13 whereas the map (Figure 4.7-I) indicates that the Havre series was sampled at this point. Conversely, sample point MU11 was indicated (page 9-63) to be a sample of the llavre series but Fig. 9.7-1 shows it to be within the area mapped as Glendive. This error should be corrected and an explanation provided stating the effect of the transposition on the presentation of the soil suitability parameters of Table 9.7-6, 4.7-2 and 3.3-1. (4)
