Atr. Fade Orell Page 2 July 27, 1982
In lieu of this data at this point, a thorough qualitative description
of the hydrologic regime should be prepared and submitted. This should
include a descriptive narrative that clearly defines the relationship
between surface and ground water systems, including data that needs to
be collected to verify the relationship. This narrative should also identify
the potential affects (both good and bad) that mining will have on surface
and ground water, and mitigation measures that caill be used to prevent
damage to the hydrologic regime.
An on-going data collection system that will be used to document the effects
of mining upon the hydrology of the area and to determine the effectiveness
of mitigation measures should be developed and submitted also.
The submittal of this information should allow the Division to make the
required findings and facilitiate the inclusion of appropriate stipulations
within the permit.
Please feel free to contact. Brian Munson or myself if you have any quesitons.
Sincerely,
~~~~
Susan Mowry
Reclamation Specialist
SM/ep
Enclosures
