18
The work directed by the Colorado Mined nand Reclamation Board will be
' completed by July 1, 1980. At that time an addendum report will be filed
which will revise or add to information provided at this time. Most of the
report will be a:>sociated with the herbaceous fraction of the community
' composition.
RECLAMATION
' Because of the small amount of surface area which has been disturbed,
t and because we a:;sume the .7 acres of disturbance will not be increased
appreciably, the reclamation effort need not be as extensive as on sites which
are more expansive. Recontouring will take place, which will establish a
southwest-facing hillside in immediate need of surface stabilization.
' Priority must be given to controlling surface erosion. The surface should
' be hydromulched and seeded with a standard reclamation seed mix, such as the
Homestake Mountain Mix (Table 8). Special care need not be taken for the
' use of native species because natural reseeding will take place faster and
with greater assurance than if attempts are made to collect native seed
' and apply same.
' Evaluation of natural invasion of disturbed benches next spring will
provide a basis £or an ultimate recommendation in July, i,AO.
1
1
1

1
