Dept. of Na[ural Resources <br />Eastside Coal Company, Inc. is planning to conduct an under- <br />ground coal mining operation in an area approximately 3.5. <br />miles north•of Silt, Colorado. The original application was <br />submitted February 22, 1984. The application was considered <br />complete on May 22, 1984, This submission is in response to <br />the adequacy concerns listed in Dan Mathews' letters dated <br />July 12 and July 25. 1984. <br />Eastside Coal Company, Inc. is currently operating under an <br />exploration plan approved October 14, 1983, Approval No. CX- <br />186-00. The exploration approval expires December 1, 1984. <br />The timely approval of the permit application is important <br />for Eastside Coal to have a mining and reclamation permit <br />prior to the exploration approval expiring. <br />The revisions to be made to the permit application are listed <br />on the attached revision list. Five complete sets of the re- <br />visions are submitted for the five copies of the application <br />held by your office. <br />We want to maintain open lines of communication during the <br />review process.
