Dept. of Na[ural Resources Eastside Coal Company, Inc. is planning to conduct an under- ground coal mining operation in an area approximately 3.5. miles north•of Silt, Colorado. The original application was submitted February 22, 1984. The application was considered complete on May 22, 1984, This submission is in response to the adequacy concerns listed in Dan Mathews' letters dated July 12 and July 25. 1984. Eastside Coal Company, Inc. is currently operating under an exploration plan approved October 14, 1983, Approval No. CX- 186-00. The exploration approval expires December 1, 1984. The timely approval of the permit application is important for Eastside Coal to have a mining and reclamation permit prior to the exploration approval expiring. The revisions to be made to the permit application are listed on the attached revision list. Five complete sets of the re- visions are submitted for the five copies of the application held by your office. We want to maintain open lines of communication during the review process.
