Mr. Yern Pfannenstiel - 2 - May 9, 199G
done. Since Peabody is using an "extended reference area" for post
mining revegetation success comparisons, Peabody must prove to the
Division that additional permit areas of substantial size contain
similar plant communities. Comparisons made between the present
permit area and the additional areas using cover data from the same
year are acceptable.
5. On the Yoast area, there exist two communities of special
interest. The "irrigated hay" and "improved pasture" areas should
be sampled as were the irrigated hay and improved pasture areas at
Nucla.
6. At Seneca II-West there is only one community of special interest,
the "riparian" community along Dry Creek. This area should be
sampled to adequacy keeping in mind the restriction of number 2
above.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
l
arl B. Mount
Reclamation Specialist
CBM/yjb
cc: James Lunan
6973E
