Ui iuclWU( Resources
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman Street, Room 423
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Brian:
As you know, an outside contractor has been servicing the Rockcastle Comna ny 's
explosives needs at the Grassy Creek Coal Mine. In the near future, this
supplier will no longer deliver explosives on an as needed basis. Therefore,
the Rockcastle Company must begin storing explosives on site.
Enclosed are five copies of the Dlining Plan map revised to show the location
of the explosives storage area. You will note that the explosives storage
area is isolated and no closer than 1000 feet to any other mine facility.
It is the same location as the old fuel storage area. The new fuel storage
area is located at the shop area. It is properly bermed and should present
no problems from a regulatory standpoint.
The enclosed maps should replace the Mine Plan maps that are currently in
the five copies of the permit application that you have. This explosives
storage area should become part of the new Hermit when the Rockcastle Company's
mining and reclamation plan receives final approval.
If I can answer any questions regarding the explosives storage area, please
feel free to contact me.
Very truly yours,
Tommy D.
