SHELTO N, Director <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: November 23, 1983 <br />T0: Mr. Jim Hall, Division of Water Resources <br />FROM: Carol Russell, Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />RE: Water Issues Regarding the Proposed Twin Pines No. 2 I+line <br />As we discussed in our meeting on November 21, 1983, the Division is <br />requesting assistance from the State Engineer's office to determine if <br />the proposed Twin Pines No. 2 Mine will operate in compliance with State <br />water law. The matter of concern centers around possible impacts to the <br />Caldirola Mine well water right owned by the town of Coal Creek. <br />The Division needs your assistance in answering the following questions: <br />1. What is the best way for Twin Pines Coal Company, Inc. to quantify <br />the amount of water available to the Caldirola Mine well limited use <br />water right? <br />2. Will the following stipulation ensure compliance with state water law? <br />Stipulation <br />PRIOR TO THE USE OF MINE 'WATER FOR ANY UIVDERGROUIVD 14INING ACTIVITIES, <br />TWIN PINES COAL C014PANY, INC., MUST OBTAIN ALL STORAGE AIVD WELL <br />PERMITS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE STATE LAW. <br />3.
