<br />David Berry <br />-26- <br />1.7 ZONE ALONG OUTCROP BARRIER PILLAR <br />June 20, 1996 <br />Paragraph 1: No comment required. <br />Paragraph 2: The DMG believes the discussion regarding the <br />outcrop barrier pillar is ambiguous. <br />The text on pages 14 and 15 of Exhibit 15 will be <br />clarified. <br />91. Exhibit 15 will be revised to clarify the barrier <br />pillar design. Enclosed are revised pages 14 and <br />15 of Exhibit 15. <br />Chimney Collapse Prediction <br />91. The DMG notes that specific accommodation should be <br />made for thin overburden, near outcrop situations <br />adjacent to known or mapped faults such as panels <br />32 and 35. <br />A new section 1.6 of Exhibit 15 was developed <br />address the effects faults may have on the chimney <br />collapse prediction. Enclosed the new section 1.8 <br />of Exhibit 15. <br />2.0 SUBSIDENCE IMPACTS <br />2.1 LAND USE <br />Paragraph 1: The DMG considers the topics of "sustainable animal <br />units and walking time between water sources" an <br />important topic of consideration. Typically <br />livestock in steep terrain use roads and trails for <br />their migration between stock ponds. The <br />Subsidence Handbook details the short term and long <br />term mitigation of subsidence impacts to these <br />surface structures. Page 18 of Exhibit 15 was <br />revised to indicate land use change caused by <br />subsidence would be temporary and only in isolated <br />areas. Enclosed is revised page 18. <br />2.2 SURFACE WATER <br />Paragraph 1: No response required.
