I spoke with Mr. Bab Lobato on the
telephone regarding the status of the Blue Flame Mine and permit application.
Mr. Lobato informed me that Mr. Carwin Bleidt no longer represented Blue Flame
Coal Company and that he (Bob Lobato) would be serving as the new contact
person. He will be sending the Division written confirmation of that change.
P.c.
I was informed by Mr. Lobato that the finalization of permit issuance was
stalled due to the withdrawal of persons who were supplying venture capital
for the mine to open. At this point, Blue Flame Coal (Bob Lobato and his
father Fidel) are attempting to secure additional capital to start the
project. This would take between three and six months according to Mr. Lobato.
In the meanwhile, I was assured no mining would take place at the mine and
that Fidel Lobato had chained the entrance.
Bob Lobato stated he would send a letter confirming the status of the mine and
their schedule for finalizing the permitting process. I told Mr. Lobato that
the Division now understood the situation and would not take enforcement
action as long as no mining occurred prior to permit issuance. I also stated
the Division would again review the situation in six months if the permit had
not been issued.
/vj r
cc: Peter O'Connor
7078E
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
