Banta, MLRD, and Mr. Donald A. Crane, <br />OSM. The success standard approved for woody <br />plant density was 500 stems per acre. This den- <br />sity, which is less than the croody plant densities <br />on the reference areas, was accented by the regu- <br />latory authorities during the permit review pro- <br />cess as meeting the postmining land use. The <br />standards for the plant parameters of cover, pro- <br />duction and diversity are based on the reference <br />area values. <br />-13- <br />
