1
'
30 C.F.R. Section 779.19 VEGETATION INFORMATION

' (a) The permit application shall, if requir-
ed by the regulatory authority, contain a map that
delineates existing vegetative types and a des-
cription of the plant communities within the pro-
' posed permit area and within any proposed refer-
ence area. This description shall include infor-
mation adequate to predict the potential for re-
' establishing vegetation.
S.R. 2.04.10(4)
' (4) Plant communities shall be described in terms
of species composition, cover, productivity and
woody plant density. The application shall in-
clude a discussion of environmental factors con-
trolling or limiting the distribution of species,
such as elevation, slope, aspect, soils, water
' availability, and past management. Current condi-
tion and trend shall be discussed for each commun-
ity type or portion thereof if significant differ-
ences exist within a type. This discussion may
' take the form of an analysis of vegetation grad-
ients in relation to environmental gradients.
'
RESPONSE TO S.R. 2.04.10(4)
t Under Rule 2.04.10(4) there are two items
specified which are not required in OSM's Rules
' and Regulations, Section 779.19, and were not in-
eluded in Energy Fuels Permit 79-177, they are:
'
1) species composition and 2) woody plant den-
, sity. Data for these two plant community parame-
ters were collected during the 1980 field season
' and are presented in the attached Tables la
through 12a. Species composition was calculated
' -
was deter-
from cover data and shrub density aed
' mined from five random m2 quadrats per transect;
i ~ -e-
II
