It is recommended that Sun.land develop a new <br />surface water quality monitoring station, similar to the ipstream site <br />di.;cus:;ed above, closer to thr_ actual mine site. This wi..l.l help to provide a <br />clr_ar and more precise understanding of the charges in water quality along the <br />stretch of Trout Creek adjacent to the Apex No. 2 mine site. <br />UI. Installation of Aluvial Cround Water Monitorinc (Jell <br />Suniand has been committed to Snstall a monitoring well adjacent [o Trout <br />Creek through the al]uvium to bedrock, upstream of [he point source discharge <br />location. Water quantity measurements will be adequate using [his system, as <br />will water quality, when taken monthly. The parameters Co br_ samp.led are the <br />same as outlined in [he surface water monitoring program, with the exception <br />of. total suspended solids (TSS) and oil and grease. Annual submission of raw <br />data and graphical summaries and interpretations to OSi1 is required. It is <br />recommended that Sunland install another well. (mentioned on page G14 of the <br />MRP) i.n the MJ/4 of the SE/4 of Soc. 22 T4N, R86W. This well would help to <br />provide a more precise understanding of the changes .in alluvial ground water <br />quality and quantity as they relate specifically to activities at Lhe <br />Ape:: No. ' mine site. Using the well developed by Pittsburg 6 Midway Coal <br />Mining Company further downstream may lead to ambiguiti.e; in the data. <br /> <br />
