• -5- . <br />Alternative Water Supplies <br />The applicant proposes to replace the water supply of any well owner whose <br />water supply has been proximately damaged as a result of operations at the <br />Grand Mesa Mine with water from the Colby municipal water system. The <br />Division interprets this as meaning that the operator would take all of <br />the appropriate steps, including the construction of necessary water lines, <br />to supply the well owner with an a:rount of potable water equal of the arro unt <br />used prior to damage. <br />Ground Water Monitoring <br />The applicant proposes to conduct the ground-water monitoring plan <br />presented in Table 10 of the application addendum (Kimball, et al ., 1982). <br />The plan, as proposed, will be adequate if the following stipulations are <br />adhered to. <br />1. THE OPERATOR WILL SAMPLE WATER FROM WELL A-10 MONTHLY FOR A "FIELD" <br />PARAMETER ANALYSIS AND QUARTERLY FOR A "FULL SUITE" ANALYSIS. <br />BOTH THE TERMS "FIELD" AND "FULL SUITE" ARE AS IS DEFINED ON PAGE 73 <br />OF THE APPLICATION ADDENDUM (KIMBALL, ET. AL., 1982). WELL A-2 MAY <br />BE DELETED FROM THE SAMPLING REQUIREMENTS IF DESIRED. IN ADDITION, <br />THE OPERATOR MAY DELETE THE FOLLOWING PARAMETERS FROM THE "FULL <br />SUITE" PARAMETER LIST FOR GROUND WATER ANALYSIS: <br />TOTAL COMBUSTIBLE SOLIDS <br />TOTAL HARDNESS <br />CARBONATE <br />CHLORIDE <br />2. ANNUALLY, THE OPERATOR WILL SUBMIT A REVISED MINE INFLOW MAP SIMILAR <br />2b MAP 6 OF THE APPLICATION ADDENDUM (KIMBALL, ET AL., 1982). THE <br />RESULTS OF ALL THE OTHER GROUND WATER MONITORING WILL ALSO BE SUBMITTED <br />ANNUALLY. <br />
