OE7i. O; I<.~I:..y;t .:.... _.,:.ES
Dorchester Coal Company
The geologic maps which are incorporated into this volume (III) of
Dorchester's adequacy response include structure maps, cross-sections,
coal thickness isopachs and lithologic information which represent the
` most up-to-date site specific information available for the Dorchester #1
l property. The following information presents a fairly detailed delineation
of the quantity of coal (i.e. total reserves) available on the Dorchester
property and has not been considered public information.
The uantit or total reserves available to any particular coal company is
information which is vital to the economics of the operation and hence, to its
competitive interests. This fact is recognized in the Coal Statute (C.R.S
34-33-110(7)) which allows "information which pertains to the quantity of
coal" to be designated confidential in permit applications and .handled
accordingly.
By this letter Dorchester wishes to notify you that all geologic maps in
Volume III are considered to be vital to its competitive interests. Pursuant
to the above referenced statutory provision (34-33-110(7)) Dorchester
specifically requests that the information presented in Volume III be held
confidential and not made a matter of public information.
If you, or your staff, have any questions pertaining to this request, or feel
that granting the request is inappropriate, please call me as soon as
possible to discuss the matter. Thank you.
Sincerely,
'1--) ~~cu-c-c~-f
t~ Dean R. M@Sey" ~/~•.
Director - Government
DRM:D
Affairs
A Subsidiary of Dorchester Cas Corporation
