This letter informs you of the Department's positicn on the dispcsai of
coal mining ~,vastes at the North Fork Landfill, in Delta Ccunty, Colorado. Th.
acceptance of those ,wastes vrould be a significant change in operation, any one
Department mill require an amendment to the North Fork certificate of
designation.
The ~,rrendment request should consist of a letter to you from Coloraa~
~„estmorzland, including the follorriny information:
1. The types of •araste materials proposed for acceptance; hour thay ~:.i 11
be handled.
2. The location of the area whera the wastes :will be disposed.
3. The ai:ounts of e~astes to be accepted; estimated final contours after
•.vaste disposal is complete.
4. Estimated life of this particular disposal operation.
5. Estimated moisture content of the vrastes.
Th.: Colorado dined Land Reclamation Division vrill not require a permit far
the epuration, unless the ~::astes result from the formal mechanical ~rocessir~
of coal rcat~rial, to concentrate the coal for shipment.
