Box 20611 <br />Denver, Colorado 80220 <br />RE: Rimr~k Mine (Application No. C-89-074) Continuation of Permit <br />Application Adequacy Review <br />Dear Mr. Davis: <br />As indicated in the Division's first adequacy review letter dated <br />April 25, 1989, the adequacy review of the Rimrock Mine application has been <br />continued and the following additional comments have been made. <br />Rule 2.04.7(2) <br />In the ground water sampling done after the SOAP Study was completed, the <br />designation EGE is used for one of the groundwater sites, ie. The J+bntoya Dug <br />Well. The designation EGE was also used earlier fora surface water sampling <br />site during the SOAP Study. Further use of the designation as a groundwater <br />sampling site should not be made due to the confusion created. <br />More detailed cross sec tions of the Engleville Gulch Channel are needed in <br />order to accurately establish premining channel morphometry and projected <br />flood plain configurations as well as to evaluate the adequacy of the channel <br />reclamation plan and assist in locating mine facilities;-etc. at a safe <br />distance from the channel. (Also see comments section 2.05.4 and 2.05.3(3) <br />this letter) <br />Rule 2.05.3(3) <br />Only one haul road is shown on the Exhibit P Map. How will the operator haul <br />coal from the Phase 2 mining on the east side of the gulch?
