THE SOIL INFORMATION MUST INCLUDE DEPTH
OF SOIL HORIZONS, AND AN ANALYSIS OF THE FOLLOWING
PARAMETERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH RULE 2.04.9: pH,
ELECTROCONDUCTIVITY, SAR, TEXTURE, PARTICAL SIZE
ANALYSIS, SELENIUM, PERCENT ORGANIC MATTER, AND
SATURATION PERCENTAGE. THE INFORMATION MUST BE
PROVIDED TO THE DIVISION WITHIN 6 MONTHS AFTER PERMIT
ISSUANCE. '
Reply
The above stipulation has been modified following a
meeting at the mine site among representatives of JFSA,
American Fuels and the CMLRD on August 22, 1983. The LT
group, because of its irregularity, thinness, and
occurrrence on steep elopes, was not to be sampled at all.
Instead, the LTE group in the upper pit (1984) was to be
sampled for quality and depth and an additional depth
measurement on the LTE soil in the lower (1963) pit was to
be made. These samples are labelled AF 1.1 thru AF 5.3 and
are shown on the attached drawing (Figure 2.1). Logs of
each pit are included (Exhibits 2.1 to 2.11) For pits with
similar soil types a composite sample was taken for
analysis.
Results of the sampling are attached in Table 2.1.
Samples in the Mazano loam were taken to a maximum depth of
