Draft FindinQS for Colorado Coal Resources Permit
XII Vegetation
Grazine Plan
As stated in the permit application, grazing will not occur on the
reclaimed mine area until the last two years of the liability period.
Fences will be incorporated to prevent livestock from entering those
areas that have been reseeded. This will allow for an adequate period of
vegetation establishment. Two years before the end of the liability
period, livestock will be allowed to utilize the area for grazing. The
grazing rates to be allowed have not been determined at this time and
will have to be calculated based on the condition of the reclaimed area
immediately prior to commencement of grazing. The rates will be based
on AUM's as defined by the U.S. Soii Conservation Service and will be
derived from the quantity of available forage estimated from interim
vegetation surveys.
XIIZ Fish and Wildlife
Chimney Rock Coal will make every reasonable effort to work with the
Colorado Division of Wildlife to insure that no negative impacts will
occur as a result of mining activities.
XVIII Coal Processing Waste and Non-Coal Processing Waste
Chimney Rock Coal agrees that, before construction of a coal processing
plant, a revision to this permit application will be submitted to the
Division fox approval. The need for a facility of this type is presently
not anticipated.
1
