,. <br />Figure 22 (Continued) <br />The surface and ground water hydrologic requirements fora coal mining <br />operation in Colorado are extremely complex. Because of the variations <br />that can occur from mine to mine or region to region, the operator <br />should contact the Division regarding specific hydrologic requirements <br />for an existing or proposed coal mine. The operator should receive <br />concurrence from the Division regarding all aspects of a hydrologic <br />baseline program and performance standards to. be followed throughout <br />the life of the mine. <br />A Hydrology Map is required by the coal regulations of the Board. <br />Likewise, a regional geology/hydrology map is required and should show <br />features such as regional drainage patterns, geological structural <br />features, surface geology, regional topography, etc. 'The operator <br />can contact the Division regarding the specific requirements of a <br />regional geology/hydrology map. <br />
