<br />r <br />CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS <br />Application for ttining and Reclamation Plan <br />The current application was submitted to OStt on December 1h, 1980. The plan <br />was determined complete enough for initial review on February l2, 1981 by [he <br />State of Colorado. The State of Colorado public notice of a complete mine <br />plan was published on four consecutive weeks from February 12 to tlarch S, 1981 <br />in the Gunnison County Tines (See Attachment F). 1'he period for submitting <br />cocuaents and requesting informal conferences on the permit application ended <br />on April 5, 1981 (See .lctachment F). The plan was then reviewed fe- <br />conpleteness and the results submitted to the operaCOr Eor compliant . <br />The operator submitted additional material and corrections to Che mine plan m <br />September 3, 1981 to OStt and the State of Colorado. <br />A combined State PJotice of Proposed Decision and OSI availability of an <br />~ Environmental Assessment was issued December 15, 1981 with a comment period <br />~. that extended until January 15, 1982 (see Attachment E). tJO comments were <br />received. I[ must be noted [hat Colorado was acting on behalf of OSt1 and <br />conducted the technical review with OS'1 approval. <br />The environmental impacts of the mine have been previously addressed in the <br />Bureau of Land tlanagement's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) titled t7est- <br />Central Colorado Coal, February 1979. The ttining and Reclamation Plan was <br />jointly reviewed by the Office of Surface 'fining and the Co Lorado ttined Land <br />Reclamation Division. Jin Herron is the responsible State Reclamation <br />Specialist and Bennett Young is the responsible Federal Technical Project <br />Officer. <br /> <br />
