ELY <br />(303 385-4880 <br />July 18, 1986 <br />Mr. Jack Witse <br />2614 East 20th Street <br />Apartment J-5 <br />Farmington, New Mexico 87401 <br />Dear Sir: <br />This office represents the Blue Flame Coal Mine located in Hesperus, Colorado, <br />in La Plata County, We are in the process of submitting a Mined Land Reclam- <br />ation Permit Application for continued coal development at that site. <br />As you are aware, Blue Flame Coal Mine and its affected areas located in <br />Sections 30, 31, and 32, Township 35 North, Range 11 West, N.M.P.M., has <br />been in existence in this area previous to your purchase of land in the area. <br />For your information tthe remaining lifetime of the mine is expected to be <br />ten (10) to eleven (11) years. We are aware that you maintain surface rights <br />within the area and we are requesting a letter from you regarding your in- <br />tended use of the surface rights after Blue Flame Coal Mine reclaims the land, <br />i.e., will the land be used for grazing or wildlife habitat, etc.? <br />Thank you in advance for consideration of this matter. <br />Sincezely, <br />Timothy D.
