J~r~ 1 ;; 1982
MINED L.4^,~ Ai_CL/;,',~~.TION
Ce!o Dept. of i'.i,url Rcsomces
Ms Carol Russell
Mined Land Reclamation
423 Centennial Bldg.
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Ms Russell:
15 June 1982
The following covers ditch D-7 as shown on "APEX N0.2
MINE plate 1 Site Plan". This diversion routes undisturbed
runoff away from our surface disturbed area. Ditch D-7 runs
along the hil]side edge of a narrow ranch road above our
portal area. Sunland Mining Corporation has no ownership;
interest; or mining use of this ranch road. This road is,
however, within our permit area.
The hillside that this road traverses is quite steep,
and of consequence, ditch D-7 frequently becomes blocked
with sloughage debris. (This is a matter of record on
several inspection reports.)
Sunland Mining Corporation proposes the following
measure to be taken in respect to this drainage. The
hydrologic efficiency of the diversion represented by Ditch
D-7 will be maintained by either Ditch D-7 per se (in cross
section depicted on "Plate 1") or by a berm of at least 6"
in height extending along the outside edge of the ranch
road .
Yours truly-,~
~ v~~~
David R.
