Walden Coal would like
to undertake further research to determine the feasibility of the present pond
"C" plan.
As you have observed during your inspections, the pond and dam, less
the spillway, have been constructed. As an interim measure, Walden Coal
would propose to construct a ditch from pond "C" to sump "B". This ditch would
carry the pond "C" outflow, insuring that sediment would have adequate
opportunity to settle.
Walt and I appreciate the time you and Fred spent with us on November 9th.
We felt the meeting improved the relationship between the MLRD and Walden
Coal. We are committed to keeping the communications open with the MLRD.
Sincerely,
`~
Scott A. Patten
Vice President
