Although not required by the reclamation stan- <br />dards of 1976 and 1977 the 1980 reclamation data on plant cover <br />and production were compared to an undisturbed sagebrush re- <br />ference area. The big sagebrush reference area was used for <br />comparison because almost all of the premine vegetative com- <br />munities on the tracts requested for bond release were dominated <br />by this type. Sampling in 1980 was done using the method- <br />ologies approved by CMLRD in our Permit 79-177. Transects <br />were taken in each reclaimed area along a 50 meter tape. <br />Cover was sampled using a 10 point frame and production was <br />taken by clipping all plants growing with a one quarter meter <br />quadrat. <br />Results of these vegetation studies are contained <br />in the following table. Please note that herbaceous cover <br />and productivity have been used as measurements of success <br />as stipulated by your current regulations. <br />
