<br />.1 <br />CHRONOLOGY OF EVENTS <br />Colorado Westmoreland Inc. <br />Application for Mining and Reclamation Plan <br />The application for the Orchard Valley Mine major modification was originally <br />submitted to OSM June 18, 1979. The applicant provided additional data on <br />July 18, 1980, February 17, 1981 and July 20, 1981. The plan was determined <br />to be essentially "complete" on March 2, 1981. The applicant published notice <br />of submittal of the plan for four consecutive weeks in the Delta County <br />Independent starting August 20, 1979. Public notice was given for three <br />consecutive weeks in the Delta County Independent by OSM starting March 2, <br />1981 of a complete mine plan. No comments were received. A Notice of <br />Availability of a Technical Assessment and an Environmental Assessment was <br />sent to the North Fork Times September 11, 1981. <br />The mine has been previously addresssed in the Bureau of Land Managements <br />Environmental Assessment an the Orchard Valley Mine (Feb. 1980). Major issues <br />identified in the TA have been addressed in the EA. <br />J <br />Attachment B <br />
