Dawes: <br />This office has reviewed your correspondence of September 24, <br />1981 concerning the above mine plan. <br />~~ This office concurs with the OEfice of Surface Mining that <br />sites SDT89, 91, 93, and 97 are not eligible to the National Register <br />of Historic Places. The remains of these sites are poorly preserved <br />or entirely destroyed and will not yield further information <br />important to history. <br />Since there are no significant cultural resources located <br />within the above mine plan this office concurs with the <br />determinaticn of no effecC. <br />Should previously uniden[ified cultural resources be located <br />in the cour<_e of the project, construction muse be halted until <br />the resource. has been evaluated in terms of the National Register <br />criteria, 3bCFR60.6. <br />lJhen Colorado ldestmoreland expands the mine outside of the <br />present mine plan, determinations of eligibility and effect must be <br />made on the remaining sites located on [he surveys. <br />~~ <br />-' :;,,- <br />`! ,\ <br />,\` _ .. `5 <br />J •~ <br />~`~~vC bl ~~D <br />
