Dept. of Natural Resource
701 Camino Dcl Rio
Durango, CO 8].301
Re: Chimney Rock Coal Emergency Lease Application SN C-34886
Dc<rr Bob:
l•!c have reviewed the acreages the BLM wishes to delete from
the emergency lease application area. The enclosed map and
table describe the areas we discussed during our June 2, 1982
telephone conversation. The areas outlined in red depict the
proposed BLM deletions. The blac}: hash marks depict the
areas we do not want to delete. The total proposed land
deletion encompasses 135 acres. The areas we would like to
remain in the lease encompass 30.5 acres. You will notice
that areas "T" and "J" depict a projected mining limit.
Current plans do not include mining of those areas, however,
if contx-actual demands increase it may become necessary.
Although the projected mining limit does not er,tend into
areas "C" and "D", the use of the south quarter of: "C" and
,11 of "D" may become necessary as a direct result of surface
.°.ining act:ivitic:s or as a topnoil and subsoil stockpile arco.
'~ht~rofore, excel;t for the areas ex~~luded, we are not opposed
tc~ deleting acreage from the lease area.
Further, as soon as we are cer.Lain as to the exact ac~re~cyc• of
th<• 1~~nse area, we will make arranyernents for an ax-chaco-
]c~.ii~•nl survey.
1J<• are at your disposal to discuss this matter further, iF
n~ ~•cssary.
Sincerely
/~ ~/~
P.ade I1.
