There are five known sites on Chimney Rock
Mesa above Stollsteimer Creek north of the mine area. in
addition the U.S.G.S. Chimney Rock Quad map shows the location
of what appears to be an unrecorded ruin within the mine area.
We recommend that a survey be conducted to identify sites
within the impact area. This office would welcome the opportunity
to work with Chimney Rock Coal to develop a plan to consider cultural
resources.
If this office can be of further assistance, please contact
the Compliance Division at 866-3392.
Si erely,
Arthur C.
