Gunnison Mine project area map for the Mt. Gunnison mininc
and reclamation plzn.
These areas zre inde_d deep, clay loam soils. Presently, their use is
natural mezdows used for summer grazing of domestic livestock, deer and
elk. This is, basically, agricultural use.
The elevation is approximately i700 feet. 71ie growing season is short...
perhaps around 60 days. The areas are not irricated. The valley floors
I ranee in slopes from 12 to 25 per cent.
It is doubtful that agronomic agricultural development will occur.
These t.~o areas are not suited to any of the major crops except grasses.
. Proximity to local services and markets reduce the viability of agronemie
development.
Stith the land in the present ownership it is unlikely that any chance
will occur.
Sincerely yourrs,
1. 0.
