<br /> <br />.~ <br />~1 <br />Sediment Control System <br />The sediment control system to be implemented will include an <br />appropriate combination of a sedimentation pond, interceptor <br />and diversion ditches. The structures will be sized to <br />safely pass the 10 year 24 hour precipitation event. The <br />design calculations are presented in an attachment hereto and <br />depicted on the map, also attached hereto. <br />Topsoil <br />The Division is concerned that removal and segregation of the <br />topsoil and subsoil will not be possible during this time of <br />the year due to ground freezing. The fact that the soils are <br />relatively sandy, tend to be dryer this time of the year, and <br />the geographical location of the mine property should prevent <br />significant ground freezing and the resultant inability to <br />remove and segregate such materials. In addition, a question <br />arose as to the need to stockpile low S.A.R. overburden in <br />the area of the test pit operations. Field investigations <br />conducted on December 17, 1961 in conjunction with a <br />representative of the Division indicates that subsoil exists <br />in sufficient amounts to preclude the necessity to stockpile <br />low S.A.R. overburden. <br />Dwelling Buffer Zone <br />The matter of the 300 feet buffer zone on the Gallegos <br />dwelling, identified as Tract 17, in Volume 4, Exhibit 1 has <br />not been resolved at this time.
