Dept. of Natural Resoerre~
Dear Ms. Emrich:
This office has reviewed the cultural resource report "A Reconnaissance Survey
and Records Search for the Proposed Foidel Creek Mine" by William R. Killam.
We concur that historic sites SRT332 (formerly SRT344) SRT342 and SRT343 are not
eligible to the National Register. These sites are undistinguished homesteads
with no important architectural features and are not associated with persons
important in history.
SRT345, a rock art site, appears to be eligible to the National Register. This
site may yield information important to prehistory through further study of the
rock art panel and through excavation,
Based on a telephone conversation with Bill Killam and on the report, this office
finds that there will be no effect to site SRT345 by this mine plan. Should the
proposed mine plan be altered we request consultation on the changes to determine
if there will be an affect to this site.
If this office can be of further assistance, please contact Jim Green at 866-3392.
Sir rely,
Barbara Sudler
State Historic Preservation Officer (Acting)
BS/WJG:ss
