Would CYCC agree to installing
a staff gage in each pond to assist our inspectors in identifying
the 60Y sediment storage volume level?
Page 4.05-21 states that the sediment control design plans and
specifications presented in Exhibit 6 have been certifed by a
professional engineer. The Division could not located this
certification. Will CYCC provide such a statement?
On page 4.05-24 and 30 the operator requested a variance from
Rule 4.05.6 (11)(c) which requires quarterly inspections of
ponds. Due to the size, location, and anticipated usage of
the ponds, the Division plans to deny this request. It should
be noted that these reports are simple and quick to complete
and need not be conducted by signed by, or certified by a
professional engineer. The Division has a suggested report form
the operator may use to complete this requirement.
On page 4.05-40 the operator requested a variance from stream
buffer zones to accommodate the main entries fo the mine. The
Division will issue its diecision on the request at the completion
of our review of the application. At this time it does not appear
that this will be a major trouble spot.
Several concerns were noted with the
contained in Exhibit 6, Table A. In
model, the operator failed to adjust
slope and basin shapes. The operator
of SCS TR-55, Peak Flows in Colorado,
adjustments.
revised design calculations
using the SCS TR-55 watershed
peak runoff rates for varying
should refer to Appendix E
1977 and make the appropriate
