iii iiiiiiiiniiiiii <br />999 <br />POW DERHORN <br />COAL COMPANY <br />December 30, 1982 <br />RECEIVED <br />Mr. David Shelton JANU31983 <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division h11NEC LAND RECLAMATION <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 423 coo oEPI OF NATURAL RESOURCES <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />RE: Comprehensive Plan for Field Trials and Temporary Revegetation on the <br />Roadside Refuse Pile: File No. C-041-81 <br />Dear Mr. Shelton: <br />Powderhorn Coal Company, pursuant to Stipulation Wo. 11 of the proposed decision <br />document issued by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division on November 4, <br />1982, hereby submits the plan for the field trials and temporary revegetation <br />on the Roadside Refuse Pile. <br />The purpose of the plan is to demonstrate that revegetation success criteria <br />can be met with less than four feet of non-toxic, non-combustible cover and/or <br />that disturbance to the hydrologic balance will be minimized with less than <br />four feet of cover. <br />A minimum of six (6) inches of topsoil is proposed at this time to cover the <br />outslopes of the Roadside Refuse Pile for temporary revegetation while ongoing <br />field trial test plots will be monitored for revegetation success. <br />Powderhorn Coal Company believes that the plan is comprehensive and will solve <br />many problems of mutual concern. <br />If there are any questions please notify us.
